My name is Crystal, I live on the beautiful coast of NC with my husband, two sons, one dog and one cat. We stay busy.  Life has been crazy in the last year as I have had a bad year with my chronic illness but I am currently making a concerted effort to get out of bed, and exercise every day to keep my body moving. I am also learning to listen to my body more so I know when to say stop and sit.  Knitting has become what I do to keep my sanity.  When I feel bad I can still knit and it makes me feel productive.  When we watch tv I can knit which is great because I hate sitting around not doing anything. And it’s saved my sanity a few times in traffic too. 🙂

I work outside the home as well as being cook, house keeper and taxi driver for the kids (7 months from now oldest gets his license, hooray!) in the marine science field and love my job. My husband is a self-employed electrician and avid deer-hunter and a great cook as well.  In the summer you will most likely find us on the boat on the weekend if the weather is even remotely pretty at our favorite place, Cape Lookout. We might be grilling out, and we might be just relaxing but there will always be music and sunscreen and fun.  Cape season is probably our favorite season.  I have even been known to take my knitting with me.  I mean what’s better than sun, sand, water, knitting and beer?

I started knitting in 2015 and I haven’t stopped. Of course I started with a simple dishcloth.  Then moved onto a boot cuff.  Then next thing you know I knit my husband a sweater. It’s not perfect but he and I have gotten a lot of compliments on it. I plan on knitting him another one later this summer.  Late last year I started making socks with a vengeance.  I think I have made him 3 pairs so far and me 5 pairs. Now I am branching out to shawls and have gone back to dishcloths and dish towels because I love them so much in my kitchen.  I just love knitting period.

So that’s me in a nutshell. I’m a pretty typical 42 year old woman with two kids and a husband who loves to knit and has a large stash of yarn but can always be enticed to buy more.  Yep, just a typical knitter 🙂
